Dr. James A. Kenyon

Brig. Gen. Christopher “Trigger” Fernengel is the Director, Plans and Programs, Office of the Chief Strategy and Resource Officer, Headquarters Space Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. As Resourcing Lead, he is responsible for executing U.S. Space Force programs across the Future Years Defense Plan and the Program Objective Memorandum.

Brig. Gen. Fernengel received his commission from Ohio University ROTC program in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. His career includes assignments as a space operator, instructor, tactician, joint planner, joint strategist, 3-star speechwriter and, Operational Capability Requirements Director for Headquarters Space Force. He deployed to Afghanistan during Operations RESOLUTE SUPPORT and FREEDOM’S SENTINEL as an expeditionary squadron commander. He has also commanded at the Squadron and Delta level.

Prior to his current assignment, Brig. Gen. Fernengel was the Director, Commander's Action Group for United States Space Command at Peterson SFB, Colorado.
